We’ve just made Clerk.io’s Chat’s product recommendations smarter and more consistent.
As of October 2025, Chat now uses the same recommendation logic as your core Clerk.io Recommendations — completing the work that aligned Chat Search with core Search.

That means shoppers now get the same high-quality suggestions whether they browse your site or ask Chat for product recommendations or alternatives.

What’s new

Same recommendation engine, everywhere

When a shopper asks Chat for similar or complementary products, it now shows a Recommendations slider powered by the exact same filters, boosts, and exclusions as your main Clerk.io Recommendations.

Smarter fallback 

If a recommendation can’t be fetched — for example, no good matches or a temporary error — Chat now suggests the most relevant categories instead.
This keeps conversations flowing and helps shoppers stay in discovery mode.

Fully aligned with Chat Search

After last week’s Chat Search update, this completes the alignment between Chat and your core engines for both Search and Recommendations.
