More design freedom with full Shopify Liquid support

Clerk.io designs now understand the same templating language Shopify uses.

Until now, Clerk.io supported a smaller part of Shopify Liquid. With this update, it supports the full language across your emails and storefront designs.

Use Shopify Liquid snippets directly in Clerk.io

You can now copy a Liquid snippet from a Shopify tutorial, theme, or help article and use it directly in Clerk.io.

There is no need to rewrite it, simplify it, or work around unsupported parts of the language. The snippet can be added to your design as it is.

This makes it easier to bring ideas and code from Shopify into your Clerk.io designs.

More creative freedom in your designs

Full Liquid support gives you more room to shape how your designs look and behave.

You can now:

• Create smarter layouts
• Use custom price formats
• Add custom date formats
• Build dynamic snippets into your designs
• Use snippets from Shopify themes, tutorials, and help articles

These options are available across both emails and storefront designs.

Your existing designs stay exactly the same

Nothing you have already built will change.

We kept full backward compatibility, so your current designs will continue to look and work exactly as they do today. Your colors, layouts, and existing content will stay in place.

The new Liquid capabilities are available whenever you decide to use them. Nothing updates automatically.

More reliable rendering

We have also fixed a number of edge cases behind the scenes.

Blank fields now stay blank instead of causing a design to break. Empty values no longer create errors, and data copied into a page can now be used safely inside scripts.

These changes help designs render more reliably when data is missing or empty.

You can copy snippets from Shopify resources, create smarter layouts, format prices and dates, and build more dynamic designs.

Everything you have already created stays exactly the same. The new options are there when you need them, and nothing changes until you choose to update a design.
